FAQs
What is BLUE?
Blue is an intimate live music and events venue in Portland, Maine. Originally started in 2005 in a room half its size, Blue has evolved into a place where local, regional, and international talent perform regularly.
Can I buy tickets for an event at BLUE?
Unless an event is specifically marked as a ticketed show, Blue operates on the donation-basis model. Usually, suggested donation is $10-20 per person for each performance, however, no one is turned away from non-ticketed events!

I bought a ticket but can't attend, what do I do?
Give it to a friend! Tickets are nonrefundable. Ticket sale dollars pay the artists, door person and sound tech directly after the show. If you aren't present you are still supporting the artists and that's cool!
Is there a drink minimum at BLUE?
There is NO drink minimum at Blue! However, we rely on purchases to keep the business running, so make of that knowledge however you’d like.
How old do you have to be to attend an event at BLUE?
Due to recent changes in licensing and insurance, Blue has no choice but to maintain a strict 21+ policy.
Does BLUE have seating available?
